1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of flat walks and this website, provided by thinkersth ltd. Contact hi@thinkersth.com with questions or complaints. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you cannot legally enter this agreement, an authorised parent or guardian must agree on your behalf.

2. What the app provides

flat walks helps you compare walking routes in supported parts of Lisbon and San Francisco using estimated walking times and terrain-difficulty scores. Coverage, available alternatives and features may vary. You choose the journey and any extra time you are willing to allow. A lower terrain score does not mean a route is entirely flat, free of steps, safe for a particular person or suitable for a mobility aid.

The app is a planning aid, not a medical, emergency or accessibility-assessment service. Terrain data, directions, times and scores can be incomplete or inaccurate. The app cannot guarantee current closures, crossings, surfaces, gradients, stairs or lighting. Use your judgement, observe signs and local rules, and check conditions before proceeding. Do not interact with the app when doing so would distract you from your surroundings.

3. Accounts and acceptable use

Keep your sign-in account secure and provide accurate profile information. You are responsible for activity you authorise through your account. Do not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, circumvent access controls, impersonate others or use it unlawfully. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to investigate misuse, protect users or comply with law.

4. Membership, payments and renewal

Paid membership is offered through Apple’s in-app purchase system. Available plans, prices, billing periods and any trial or promotional conditions are displayed in the app and Apple’s purchase confirmation before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, as shown by Apple’s terms. Renewal is charged at the applicable price; Apple provides any notices and consent required for price changes.

Manage or cancel in Apple Account subscription settings. Deleting the app, signing out or deleting your flat walks account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Refund requests for Apple-billed purchases are handled through Apple’s refund process, subject to your statutory rights. Access depends on a verified active entitlement. Use Restore purchases in the app if you need to recheck a purchase linked to your account.

5. Complimentary access

We may grant complimentary premium access to selected accounts. It is separate from an Apple subscription and does not create an Apple billing agreement. Its scope and duration depend on the grant; we may change or end it, subject to any commitment we made and applicable law. A complimentary grant does not cancel an existing paid subscription. Check your Apple subscription settings to avoid unwanted renewals.

6. Changes and availability

We may maintain, update or change the service, and it may sometimes be unavailable. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or that every requested route will have an easier alternative. If we materially reduce a paid service or discontinue it, we will provide notice and any remedy required by applicable law and the purchase terms.

7. Intellectual property and third-party services

We and our licensors retain rights in the app, website, branding and content. You receive a limited right to use the service for its intended purpose, subject to these terms. Apple, Google and other providers may impose their own applicable terms for sign-in, maps, search and purchases. Nothing here grants rights to misuse another party’s services or content.

8. Responsibility and consumer rights

We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate third-party information, circumstances outside our reasonable control or use contrary to these terms. We do not exclude liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded. These terms do not remove rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

9. Privacy, deletion and contact

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled and how to request account deletion. You can stop using the service at any time and request deletion through your profile. Subscription cancellation is a separate action with Apple. For support or to raise a complaint, email hi@thinkersth.com.

10. Updates and disputes

We may revise these terms to reflect changes in the service or law. We will give notice of material changes where required and display the updated date. If you have a dispute, contact us first so we can try to resolve it. Applicable law and mandatory local consumer protections determine your rights and the courts available to you; these terms do not restrict rights to bring a claim in a court required by law.
